Why choose Glendale ?

Because Glendale is a school with a difference. It has.

  • An excellent purpose built 10 acres campus that boasts of Life Skills development studios, sports grounds, a swimming pool, state-of- the art facilities and a vast collection of resources and books in its Learning Resource Centre
  • Value added classes such as Language Arts, Life Skills and Value Education so that students are prepared to be global citizens
  • A unique philosophy that is based upon internationally researched methodologies which blend academic excellence, personality development and universal human values into the curriculum
  • Committed and dynamic teachers who believe in experiential learning. All teachers are extensively further trained in-house
  • Excellent exam results
  • High standards of success in state/ national/international academic competitions, sport, music, drama and other cultural events.

1. What is the teaching methodology of the school?

Glendale Academy is a CBSE school. The teaching methodology, however, is eclectic and draws a lot from the theory of Multiple Intelligence and Brain Compatible Learning.

We also have Cambridge International Examination (CIE) accreditation, which is most suitable for students whose parents are globally mobile or those seeking to do undergraduate courses abroad. This system fosters self-learning and offers a wide choice of subjects to students even at Grade X.

2. What extra and co-curricular activities does the school provide?

  • Physical Education, Music and Craft are part of the core curriculum for all classes.
  • In addition, middle and high school students can choose any one of the indoor (Arts, Dance, Karate and Yoga) and outdoor activities (Cricket, Tennis, Football, Skating and Athletic) in an academic year.
  • The School employs professionals with extensive experience to coach for athletics, basketball, cricket, football, karate, swimming and tennis. Many of the teachers involved in coaching are national level players in their own right.
  • Primary students (I-V) are exposed to all these activities in a year, by rotation.
  • Every student is encouraged and given an opportunity to participate in the school assembly presentation.
  • Intra & Inter-school competitions in Sports, Literary and Cultural arenas also form an integral part of the school routine.

3. Does the school provide any kind of Value/Life skills education?

In line with the School's motto, "Sow a Character, Reap a Destiny", our aim is to ensure that students grow up with strong core values, refined social conditioning and a peace-loving, spiritual demeanor.

Towards this, we provide Life Skills and Value Education as a part of the teaching curriculum. Our uniquely designed life skills development studio serves as a finishing school giving the students an opportunity to experiment with sewing, culinary skills, table manners, self-grooming, painting, interiors, ikebana, clay modeling, performing arts and others. They also learn to be pro-active citizens as they learn to do community service, visit old-age homes, host orphans, organize cleanliness drives, and use eco-friendly products and show concern for all living things.

4. What is the strength of each class?

Glendale Academy International has restricted the number of students in each section to 25. All students are given equal opportunities to participate and to learn. This has been done to facilitate personal attention and promote greater rapport between teacher and student in the classroom.

5 What are the methods adopted for assessing the students? How often?

  • Students from Grade I - V are continuously evaluated as a part of the school routine. Neither the parents nor the students are intimated about the assessment schedule in order to avoid stress.
  • There are end-of-term exams for these classes for same reason.
  • Class VI upwards, there is a shift in the evaluation to integrate the students into the mainstream assessment methodology.
  • They would have formative assessments which would include Role Play, Crosswords, Flow Charts, Book Reviews, Field Trips, Class Work/Home Work Assignments, Group Work, Surveys, Project Work, Worksheets, Games and Multiple Choice Questions.
  • The homework is designed to reinforce learning. A detailed Report Card is given at the end of every term (twice a year), providing an aggregate of the child's performance through each term.
  • There would be summative assessments twice a year in Sept/Oct and March.

6. When can the parents interact with the teachers?

Parents can meet teachers on 'Open House' day when the reports are given, as well as regular 'Tea-time Talks' which are a doorway to open communication between teachers and parents. In addition, parents can meet teachers on the first and third Saturday of every month between 9a.m to 10a.m.

7. How is discipline enforced on the campus?

A well-disciplined school creates a wholesome school environment that is conducive to good behavior rather than merely reacting to particular incident. At Glendale Academy International, we follow a 'Conscious Discipline' policy which is anchored on these three pillars: 'Respect-Responsibility-Cooperation'.

8. Does the school follow/promote any particular religious beliefs?

We are a secular school and celebrate all the major festivals in India. We have non-denominational prayers during the morning assembly.

9. Where is Glendale Academy International located?

We are closer than you think! We are just 20-25 mins away from Banjara Hills, Gachibowli and Hi-Tech city.
