As a school, Glendale Academy International believes in and practices "Multiple Intelligences". We took inspiration from the hugely successful Aamir Khan starrer, "Taare Zameen Par" in the academic year 2007-08 and launched "Satrang", an art festival. The school has had a terrific response from the students and their creative expression has superbly authenticated the films tagline, "Every child is special". |

Tips on ‘slow the flow’ of energy
• Turn off the lights and power sources when not in use.

Tips on 'slow the flow' of water
. Turn off tap when brushing your teeth. Never let the water run!
. When washing dishes, fill up the basin and rinse the dishes in it instead of running water over each dish and piece of cutlery.
. Take a bath with water filled in a bucket than a shower. |
|
| |
Tips on 'slow the flow' of paper
. Do not tear paper
. Do not use notebook paper for paper missiles, boats and aeroplanes
. Use Both Sides of Paper - if you have a printer with a double sided print option use it. You will save half the amount of paper you would have normally used.
. Then when you are done bring it to the recycle bin.
. Make a rough notebook with un- used pages of class work/homework note books. |
| |
Tips on 'curb the car'
. Travel by foot, bike or even skates, rollerblade, etc., instead of by car to reduce your carbon footprint.
. Do not keep the engine running (known as "idling") while waiting in the car.
. Remind your parents to always keep their car tires properly inflated |
| |
Tips on 'Reduce- Reuse-Recycle'
. Recycle your family's paper, plastic, aluminium and glass each week.
. Skip bottled water and drink filtered tap water instead.
. Bring your own reusable bag to the mall or grocery store
. Use recycled paper and paper products at home and in school.
. Recycle plastics and even limit the use of plastics
. Use bio-degradable products
. Use eco-friendly fuels that will not cause drastic climate change
. Compost your old vegetable peelings to make a rich fertilizer for your soil. |
 |
|
| |
Tips on 'Grow the green'
. Plant native trees in your garden or backyard
. Buy locally grown and organic foods.
. Dispose all waste properly and do not litter public places
. Give a potted plant as a gift instead of flowers |
| |
Tips on 'Preserving Biodiversity'
. Avoid using products made of animal skin or those made by animal testing
. Adopt an animal in the zoo instead of buying a pet |
